Hackathons are exciting events that bring together individuals with diverse skills to collaborate, innovate, and create something amazing within a limited time frame. A Hackathon event at work can be a fantastic opportunity for employees to step out of their daily routines, think outside the box, and work together towards a common goal.
Smarthub.ai kicked off its inaugural Hackathon on June 13 at the Bengaluru office, setting the stage for a thrilling and energetic event for our team. The excitement began building as our brilliant employees donned their thinking caps from June 13 onwards till June 15, dedicating extra hours at the office to refine and showcase their innovative ideas on the big day.

Hackathon 2024 was an equally great experience for the organizers. It provided non-technical staff with the opportunity to get involved and showcase their creativity. Collaborating on various aspects like invitations, posters, gift ideas and event management was fun, and the team displayed fantastic teamwork. The enthusiasm and energy on the floor were both contagious and motivating.
Innovation and Collaboration
- Our talented innovators delved into the realms of Automation, AI (Artificial Intelligence), IoT (Internet of Things), and Edge computing, pushing the boundaries of technology to present groundbreaking concepts.
- The kind of throughput that emerged from the couple of days of hackathon action was remarkable, and far above what we usually see in our regular cadence. Imbibing the learnings from Hackathon 2024 and making it work for our regular agile sprints would be a takeaway, and a challenge to ride on.
- It was also a good exposure to see the work on latest trends in technology, especially on the Machine Learning side by the folks fresh out of college. This left us with a realization on how fast the technology is moving, and the importance of keeping one up to date.
- Each team was allotted a 20-minute slot to pitch their innovative solutions to the jury and the entire company on June 15. The judging panel, consisting of internal and external members, meticulously evaluated these remarkable ideas.
- The standout ideas earned the coveted title of winners, alongside recipients of the People’s Choice Awards, who proudly walked away with their well-deserved prizes, bringing a sense of accomplishment and pride to all involved.

All our participants found Hackathon 2024 to be a highly educating and enjoyable experience, highlighting teamwork, skill development, and innovative project outcomes. Participants also expressed their appreciation for the mentors, organizers, and suggested having more such workshops in the future.
